The AI & Music project is a part of AI and the Creative Economy Project. The project focuses on how artificial intelligence is impacting music streaming and the economy for working musicians through the lens of policy and ethics.

Bass Connections

The Fall 2026 cohort focused on advocacy and awareness work of the issues around AI & Music including short and long form videos for stakeholders, policy memos, and a social media campaign. A team also worked to analyze the global legal landscape of AI & Music.

Laidlaw Scholars

This project is sponsored by the Laidlaw Scholars Program under the Hart Leadership Program at Duke. The project is a case study on Spotify and proposed policy solutions in the United Kingdom and European Union at the intersection of AI and music streaming with a specific focus on impact on democracy, artist's renumeration, and transparency.
