As part of our AI & Creative Economy project, we will be launching a special topics course titled, “AI, Ethics, and Creative Economy Policy.” The course will be taught by Prof. Hoffman and Tift Merritt. We welcome students of any background or experience with the topics to join the class.
The course is an upper-level undergraduate and graduate course, cross-listed with Science & Society and Public Policy (SCISOC 590-01/ PUBPOL 590-04). The class will meet in Gross Hall 230C on Tues/Thurs from 11:45-1:00pm.
Course Overview:
How can we apply themes of technology policy and ethics to understand how AI is impacting creative sectors and the economy for creatives?
This course will be a discussion-based course focusing on the practical policy solutions needed to maximize benefits, while minimizing risks of AI to creatives. Explore themes of technology policy, applied ethics, and the historical inequities in technology transitions, and engage directly with creatives affected by the issues discussed!
